It's been a while since my last Blog Post - my apologies! It's been a busy time with setting up shop in store at HATTIE AND THE WOLF ... a fabulous new store located in Ballarat, Victoria. I am currently occupying the space upstairs with my entire Preloved Collection ... and it's honestly a dream come true for me and my little Biz!
I wanted to write to you all and update you on what's been happening here at TWG and also what's coming up! There's been a lot of behind of the scenes work going on ... lots of planning and exciting new ideas! Unfortunately ... there are too many ideas and not enough time! haha. A common problem for creative minds and entrepreneurs! A very good friend of mine suggested I need an 'Ideas Book' ... and that's exactly what I did - got myself an 'Ideas Book! When a new idea pops into my head or I'm feeling particularly inspired ... it goes straight into the 'Ideas Book' for a time when I can execute it well ... and not overwhelm myself trying to do too much at once! Another common problem for us Mums in general!
So, what's happening now ... well ... you may have noticed that there are no items currently listed in the Online Store! I was finding it difficult juggling both the retail space and the online space, so I made the decision to focus on doing one area well, rather than trying to do them both mediocre! But never fear my loyal online shoppers - this won't be forever - just while I fine tune a few processes and establish a sustainable routine. Please also note, I haven't stopped online sales completely ... you can still nab a bargain by shopping my IG and FB pages ... so keep an eye out and comment SOLD on anything you might like!
If you are local to Ballarat or at least in driving distance ... I hope you'll come see me and my collection at HATTIE AND THE WOLF ... the store is so beautiful with lots to look at and enjoy. There is always tea on the brew and a sense of home when you walk through the door. Andrea (the owner of Hattie and the Wolf) has created such a beautiful space, I feel very lucky to be sharing a part of it with her. The shop is open WED - SAT ... I'm in store on Saturdays as well as the occasional week day, it's located at 218a Skipton Street, Ballarat.
What's coming up next!? Well ... it's something very exciting and that I have been thinking about for some time ... something I am super excited about! My Sustainable Shopping Tours!! You may have already seen my posts on this ... the first tour is Saturday August 19th. This tour has a lot to offer those who LOVE op shopping ... but also those who are new to the game! I'll be revealing more in my next BLOG POST ... which will be all about the upcoming Sustainable Shopping Tours! If you are interested in coming along ... pop on over to the SHOP section of the website and you'll see the SHOPPING TOURS tab ... three dates have been released, for August, September and October.
What else ... I'm glad you asked! I am very lucky to be working along side the very talented and creative Andrea Hurley (as I mentioned earlier - the owner at Hattie and the Wolf), Andrea is also the creative behind Bird & Blossom and Designer at A.Hurley Designs. Andrea is also very passionate about Sustainability, Handmade and Ethically produced product. So we have decided to join forces to bring you something very special! I cant give too much away at this point but ... I can tell you it's celebrating two of my loves - Preloved and Handmade! And it's for the ultimate 'Green Queen' in your life! Stay Tuned!!
Down the Track ... well, I'll be honest ... the ideas book has quite the list ... but something that I am really passionate about is educating Children on Sustainability, in particular Sustainable Fashion. I am in the very early stages of writing a Children's Story Book on this very thing! I'm super excited about it ... but all I can tell you at this stage is what the title will be, which is ...
'The Little Green Dress'. I will be sure to keep you up to date with any progress!
Another Project I'm working on for down the track ... is establishing a Program to be delivered in Secondary Schools that educates Students on Sustainable Fashion and the impacts of Social Media in regards to this. This too is in the early stages and will be something I hope to bring to life over the next 12 months. I'll keep you posted!
Well, I think that's a wrap! A bit of an insight into what's been happening, what is happening and what will be happening at The Wardrobe Green over the next little while. If you would like to know more about anything ... please feel free to get in contact with me, I love to collaborate so please reach out if you are interested in working together. I'm always open to new ideas!
